Computing & Research Support Services
CAC offers a wide range of services to support computational research, software development, and advanced data workflows.
No-Cost Services
There are no fees for the following services:
- Initial strategy meeting to determine which services meet your needs.
- Up to 20 hours of support to design an optimal HPC cluster and/or storage solution for housing in the University machine room. Includes assistance securing favorable vendor quotes through our technical expertise and partnerships.
- Access to high-speed networks.
- Exploratory accounts for Red Cloud. Includes 165 compute hours, 50GB storage, 1 hour of research consulting.
- General help to get you started or to answer occasional questions.
- Technical documentation.
- Faculty proposal support.
Fee-Based Services
Computing and research support service requiring non-trivial time or resource use are charged based on actual service consumption.
- A valid University account is required for charge-back billing based on CAC Rates.
- Rates are set to ensure full cost recovery, with a Provost subsidy helping to offset costs.
- Rates are reviewed annually, or as needed, to ensure fairness and prevent over-recovery.
