Pilot users sought for new Seneca HPC cluster (GPU & CPU)

The Cornell Center for Advanced Computing (CAC) is excited to announce a call for pilot users for its new Seneca high-performance computing cluster, a next-generation system designed to support advanced research, AI workflows, and large-scale computation.

Seneca combines powerful CPU infrastructure with cutting-edge GPU acceleration, featuring NVIDIA H100 and A100 GPUs. The system is built to handle a wide range of workloads—from traditional scientific computing to modern machine learning and data-intensive applications.

We are currently seeking early adopters to help test the system, run real workloads, and provide feedback that will shape the platform ahead of broader availability.

Pilot Program Highlights:

  • Access to the Seneca cluster is free through July 1
  • Supports both GPU-accelerated and CPU workloads
  • Features NVIDIA H100 and A100 GPUs
  • Opportunity to benchmark applications and evaluate performance
  • Ability to influence system tuning, software stack priorities, and documentation

Participants in the pilot program will play a key role in helping CAC refine the system and ensure it meets the needs of the research community.

Researchers, faculty, and advanced users interested in participating are encouraged to contact CAC Help to get onboarded.
